Managing tax exemption certificates is a major challenge for retailers, who must create and collect certificates at the point of sale without imposing a significant administrative burden on customers, said Matthew MacNeil, manager, Tax Technology Solutions, Avalara CertCapture. He will give advice on the issue during a free 60-minute webinar, "Managing Sales Tax Exemption Certificates at Checkout," hosted by RetailCustomerExperience.com. Once the certificates are created, retailers need a robust exemption certificate management system to proactively manage data and keep information current and accurate, MacNeil said.
