Western apparel retailer Fort Western selects cloud-based retail management suite

August 16, 2011

CORESense, provider of a cloud-based multi-store/multi-channel retail management solution, has announced that Fort Western, a leading provider of western wear and decor based in Nebraska, is implementing the CORESense Point of Sale and multi-channel retail business management solution to run their three retail stores, catalog operation and e-commerce website.

Established in 1972, Fort Western offers western lifestyle merchandise through multiple channels including two retail stores in Nebraska, nation-wide catalogs along with their branded e-commerce website, www.FortWestern.com.

"As our company has grown and expanded into new channels such as e-commerce, it has become increasingly difficult to manage our various channels and stores with separate software systems," said C. Steven Wohlfarth, COO of Fort Western. "We needed one retail management software solution that could centralize management of our retail, catalog and growing e-commerce operations. The CORESense solution is capable of managing product merchandising, orders, inventory and customer relationships across all our retail stores, catalog sales force and e-commerce operation."

Fort Western, like most "lifestyle" retailers, sells a variety of products from apparel, footwear and accessories to saddles and tack through multiple channels. CORESense handles multiple product types and the merchandising and purchasing of apparel and footwear products through the use of its configurable color/size/style/width matrix.

The CORESense solution will help Fort Western streamline the merchandise planning and replenishment process. It will also provide the retailer with a real time, synchronized view of sales and inventory levels across all channels, enabling better management of inventory, reducing stock-outs and driving timelier in-season price adjustments.
