Whole Foods Market to talk store design, visual merchandising at IRDC

July 13, 2011

Whole Foods Market, VMSD magazine's 2011 Peter Glen Retailer of the Year, will get the spotlight in a special session at the 2011 International Retail Design Conference (IRDC), September 7-9 at the San Francisco Parc Wyndham, according to a news release.

Christine Sturch, Midwest interior design and branding coordinator for Whole Foods, will accept the award in a Thursday, Sept. 8 session and will discuss the role of store design and merchandising in the success of the Whole Foods brand.

The Peter Glen Retailer of the Year award is named for VMSD columnist, Peter Glen, who died in 2001. It recognizes companies that meet demanding criteria for smart retailing, market awareness, innovation and an understanding of the customer.

"Whole Foods has long been regarded as the most innovative retailer in the food sector, leading the way not only with natural and organic selections but also with smart store design, green building practices and outstanding visual merchandising," said VMSD Editor at Large Steve Kaufman in the news release.

Registration for IRDC is currently open at irdconline.com.
