For the past several weeks retailers in the U.S. have announced store closings and temporary shuttering of operations in Russia in response to Russia's war on Ukraine.
And one Yale professor is keeping track.
Jeffrey Sonnenfeld has a "naught and nice" list, which is actually an Excel spreadsheet, on what major Western brands are doing when it comes to Russia business activity, according to a CNBC report. He's created the list with his research team at the Yale Chief Executive Leadership Institute.
The growing list of U.S. companies taking action includes retailers from H&M to fast food service giants like McDonald's and fast casual leaders like Starbucks.
"I admire all of these companies enormously," Sonnenfeld told the news outlet.
He believes the actions by Western companies "absolutely will have an effect" on Russia, according to the news report.
While Russia's war on Ukraine has seen more than 300 U.S. and multinational firms cut ties with Russia, there are more than few that are not taking such actions, according to a Yahoo news report citing Sonnenfeld's list which is updated every hour.
As of late last week, Marriott and food and beverage maker Mondelez were on the naughty list.
