Free mobile couponing app Yowza!! has won a Bronze Award at the 2011 Edison Best New Product Awards. Yowza!! is a winner in the Innovative Services category, one of 12 categories honored at the Edison Awards, inspired by the accomplishments of Thomas Alva Edison.
Yowza!! is a free location-based mobile couponing app designed to deliver targeted local deals and coupons directly to the user. When the Yowza!! app is opened, maps automatically show the user where deals are located. Consumers can also save their favorite stores and opt-in for notifications from retailers when a new deal or coupon is added.
“We are very pleased to have been recognized this year by the Edison Award Committee,” said Yowza!! President Kurt Benjamin. “It is our intent to maintain that position through continued innovation, as such Yowza!! will remain committed to providing both merchants and consumers cutting-edge technology in an elegant, simple, easy-to-use format.”
Yowza!! reaches approximately 10,000 business locations nationwide, from national brands and franchises to local businesses. The company expects to expand to 300,000 businesses over the next three years.
The nominees for the Edison Best New Product Awards were judged by roughly 2,000 members of the not-for-profit Marketing Executives Networking Group (MENG), an organization consisting of marketing professionals and academics.
