Zytronic recently partnered with Design to Production to deploy a slim Blade kiosk as a pilot program in Australian Volkswagen showrooms. The 55-inch kiosk is powered by Zytronic's ZXY500 multitouch controllers, which only add 12-millimeters in depth, making the entire kiosk 40-millimeters thin in total, according to a press release.
Volkswagen is using the Blade to provide brochures, car information and customer analytics so salespeople can follow up, according to the release.
The controller comes with ASIC and touch detection algorithms so that end users can mount touch sensors almost directly in contact with the display surface.
"We've been manufacturing kiosks for quite some time; we know what impresses people; and it’s the thickness of the unit that is always the key," Peter Gordon, director, Design to Production, said in the release. "The slimmer that silhouette; the more impressive the kiosk – hence the name, Blade."
