Two dozen states have filed suit against the Trump administration over the latest tariff move by President Donald Trump.
The suit, filed by state attorney generals and governors, claims Trump has exceeded his legal authority by enacting 10% tariffs following a Supreme Court ruling that struck down the tariffs enacted since January 2025, according to a CBS News report.
The court ruled Trump's tariffs were not constitutional.
"As with his unlawful use of IEEPA, the president has once again exercised tariff authority that he does not have — involving a statute that does not authorize the tariffs he has imposed — to upend the constitutional order and bring chaos to the global economy," the lawsuit stated, according to CBS News.
