7-Eleven aims to open more than 600 bigger, food-centric locations using a new store prototype named New Standard.
These "contemporary" locations will offer much more food and drink options including made-to-order beverages, in-store seating and EV charging stations, according to an AOL news report.
The information, revealed in an investor presentation, revealed 115 of the New Standard stores have already started opening, with 115 to be in place by year's end. In 2025 the plan is to launch 125 stores with 175 in 2026 and 200 in 2027.
Overall the company is increasing food options at 1,900 locations this year and 650 in he first quarter of 2025.
The news comes three months after Alimentation Couche-Tard, a convenience store chain based in Canada that operates Circle K stores, announced overtures to acquire Seven & i Holdings, the Japan-based parent company of 7-Eleven.
