Amazon wants to make shopping easier than ever and is building a re-order capability via connected devices tied to its Amazon Dash service.

Amazon is advancing its connected retail shopping strategy, Amazon Dash, by integrating with select devices from vendors ranging from GE Appliances to Purell and mobile health tools such as the Gmate SMART blood glucose monitor.
The focus, accordingto a company release, is to make shopping easier than ever for Amazon consumers and eliminate the headache of running out of specific items such as dish detergent and blood monitoring materials.
Select Brother printers, a GE washer, and the glucose device all will work with Amazon Dash Replenishment. The service allows connected devices to automatically order physical goods from Amazon when supply is low. Consumers with a compatible Brother printer can initiate re-order capability and the washer and Gmate connected service will be live by the end of the month. Customers can sign up for Dash Replenishment via Brother's website when setting up their compatible printers.
Also on the Dash lineup are Purell soap and hand sanitizer and the Whirlpool Smart Dishwasher.
"With Amazon Dash Replenishment, we want to make customers' lives even easier so they won’t run out of items like laundry detergent, pet food or printer ink again —customers simply activate Dash Replenishment when they are setting up their connected device and then rely on Amazon to automatically deliver those everyday essentials," said Daniel Rausch, director, Amazon Devices.
According to the release Amazon has dozens of other connected devices ready for integration into the Dash Replenishment Service, including devices from Samsung, Brita, Whirlpool, August, Oster, Obe, Petnet, Clever Pet, Sutro, Thync, and Sealed Air.
