Amazon creates a special Alexa for the hospitality industry

June 27, 2018

There is now a special Amazon Alexa coming to hotels and motels that will help guests order anything from food to more towels and even make dining reservations.

The hospitality-focused Amazon Echo, according to a New York Post report, will essentially service as a virtual hotel concierge. At some point in the future the hotel Alexa will let guests play their own music playlists as well as turn on and off lights. So far Marriott has signed up and plans to plug the smart technology into 10 hotels this summer. Hotel guests not wanting an Alexa in their room can ask to have it removed, according to the report.

Amazon said data from hotel guests will be deleted daily, and Marriott said those who don't want an Echo device in their room can ask to have it removed.
