Amazon debuts its own health product line

Amazon is clearly taking on the big pharma and drugstore competition with its own special brand of health products.

It has launched Basic Care, which is an exclusive line, according to a CNBC report, though the items are being manufactured by Perrigo, a private label company.

Amazon is partnering with Berkshire Hathaway and J.P. Morgan in a quest to figure out strategies to reduce healthcare costs. Its interest with health products and medical products was initiated four years ago in a deal with Cardinal Health, according to CNBC. In late 2017, CVS announced it was buying Aetna to boost its strategy within its pharma business.
