Amazon Web Services debuts AI retail solution built on Alexa for Shopping

Amazon Web Services has launched an AI-powered solution to help retailers build AI-powered shopping experience.

The AWS agentic shopping assistant, called ASA, was built with technology and learnings from Amazon's Alexa for Shopping agentic assistant, according to a press release.

ASA uses the same foundation as Alexa for Shopping but with different ingredients that are tailored to each retailer's specific catalog, customer base, and shopping environment. Retail customers can use their own data, business rule, and brand voice to create conversational shopping assistants tailored to their needs.

Kate Spade is using AWS ASA to build its own AI shopping experience, with additional retailers currently in testing, according to the release. The first launch was Kate Spade AI Gift Concierge, a production-ready retail AI assistant built with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore.
