Apple aims to draw out the artist in iPhone, iPad user base

Apple will debut new creative and artistic workshops for device users.

January 1, 2016

Apple is expanding its retail education strategy and planning to launch new device-focused workshops in the next several months, including photography, drawing and sketching courses.

The retailer already offers some basic courses and the new ones, according to Apple Insider, will be higher-level instruction for iPhone photography and creative sketching, drawing and painting with the iPad.

Citing an announcement from Apple, Apple Insider stated that the iPhone workshops will include "various accessories and techniques," from macro imaging to long exposure and artistic editing.

The cources will focus on artistic and creative use, and Apple will reportedly showcase device users' works in retail locations and on its website. In order to begin creating, users will need the Apple Pencil, a stylus that functions as a brush or pencil.

As one Apple Insider reader noted, though, right now the pencil accessory is a bit tough to get as there is a four-to-five week waiting period after placing an order.
