Barnes & Noble top retailer in back-to-school survey

The national book retailer is the most familiar and most favored of back-to-school retail brands, reveals survey.

Barnes & Noble is top retailer of the 20 most powerful back-to-school retail brands, according to a Tenet Partners survey. The study polled 10,000 consumers regarding familiarity and favorability.

"Barnes & Noble is proud to be named the number 1 retailer for back-to-school shopping and we believe it’s a reflection on our unique offering of products for students of all ages," Jaime Carey, CEO at Barnes & Noble, said in an announcement. "From books, to science and math products, to school supplies and so much more, no other retailer can match the carefully curated selection that Barnes & Noble offers customers during the back-to-school season, and throughout the year."

The study also provides insight on current back-to-school shopping and consumer trends at Barnes & Noble. The two top growing product categories are science and math, and trending workbooks currently are math and complete curriculum workbooks, including Spectrum Math Workbook, Grade 5 and Complete Curriculum: Grade 5 (Flash Kids Complete Curriculum Series).

Barnes & Noble is the nation’s largest retail bookseller, and a leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, with 648 Barnes & Noble bookstores in 50 states, according to the announcement.
