Electronics powerhouse Best Buy is latest retailer to decide to close on Thanksgiving Day.
The move, according to a company blog post, is related to how different holiday shopping will be given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic across the U.S.
"We can all agree that, so far, 2020 has turned out differently than what we might have expected. And now, the holiday season at Best Buy, including Thanksgiving Day, is going to look different, too," stated the short blog note.
Best Buy's announcement comes on the heels of Walmart and Target deciding to close stores for the holiday. Consumers wanting to shop in between turkey celebrations can use the retailer's website and app.
"Although this holiday season may certainly look different, we're ready to once again be there for our customers how, when and where they need us, during the most exciting time of the year," stated the blog post.
Best Buy also indicated it will initiate holiday deals earlier than in the past.
