Best Buy names new CEO

Best Buy Co. announced Monday that Hubert Joly will be its new CEO. The former chief executive of hospitality and restaurant giant Carlson will step into the role in early September when his visa is secured, according to hothardare.com.

Joly, who is from France, led the restructuring and growth of Vivendi's video game business and helped toturn around EDS (now part of HP) in France. He graduated from École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Paris (HEC Paris) and Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris.
