Black Friday is no longer in play with retailers as the infamous kick-off to holiday shopping just isn't doable or safe or even wanted by consumers this year due to COVID-19 concerns.
So top retailers have revamped the traditional big discount sales day into a much expanded and much earlier experience for consumers.
Here's a quick peek, as reported at Business Insider, on the strategies in play:
Walmart
Nov. 4 is kickoff for online Black Friday sales starting at 7 p.m. and "Black Friday" is Nov. 7 at 5 a.m. in stores.
Best Buy
Holding "short" sales through November and launching all Black Friday deals on Nov. 22 with stores open at 5 a.m.
Target
Black Friday sales already launched with mini sales in different departments each week through November.
