Canadian discount retailer taps Mercatus to drive mobile experience forward

Giant Tiger Stores Limited, a Canadian discount retailer, is partnering with digital commerce solution provider, Mercatus, on a mobile app.

The app, according to a press release, is tailored toward loyalty program members as well as everyday shoppers and aims to engage mobile shoppers with the brand.

Within two years mobile e-commerce sales will account for 34% of total retail e-commerce in Canada, according to Canada Post’s 2019 eCommerce Benchmark Report.

"Investing in the digital experience for our customers is a strategic priority at Giant Tiger," said Cindy-Lynn Steele, senior vice president, corporate strategy and marketing, Giant Tiger Stores Limited, in the release. "By committing to the technology we need to support our retail evolution and total customer experience, we are preparing Giant Tiger for growth in this exciting digital retail landscape."
 
Giant Tiger's mobile app is available for English- and French-speaking shoppers.
