Car dealer adopts unique customer loyalty approach

Ford is deploying a somewhat unique customer loyalty and satisfaction strategy to quell frustration among buyers waiting for vehicle delivery.

The car and truck dealer has launched a program, from September to June, that outlines ways to not only thank customers, but surprise and delight customers waiting for newly-bought Ford Broncos.

The thank you approaches include everything from offering payment assistance for interim vehicle needs to a warranty discount and even gifting a bottle of the customer's favorite spirit, according to a report at The Drive, which cites news from the Detroit Free Press.

It came about as production and supply chain issues tangled up delivery of Ford's newest Bronco vehicles and customers waiting months for delivery. The strategy is a monetary "satisfaction" way to help its dealerships keep customers happy and content, according to the news reports.

One Florida dealership is using the fund opportunity to fly 35 customers out to a Bronco Off-Roadeo facility for a unique vehicle experience.
