SAN JOSE, Calif. — Cellfire Inc., a nationwide mobile coupon and discount offer service, was honored by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) with the MMA 2008 Innovation Award for its mobile grocery coupon program. Representing more than 700 member companies worldwide, the MMA presented Cellfire with the award based on its solution, execution, creativity and impact on the industry.
"Winning the Innovation Award from the MMA validates the remarkable work we have achieved with our client partners," said Brent Dusing, chief executive of Cellfire. "Consumers have long desired a more convenient means by which to save on groceries and the Cellfire mobile grocery coupon service allows them to save on their favorite brands at leading grocers nationwide by linking their mobile phone with their grocery savings card."
The Cellfire mobile grocery coupon service offers savings on dozens of brands from leading consumer product manufacturers redeemable at thousands of grocer locations across the U.S. Cellfire's digital coupons now work across 2,200 Kroger locations and its family stores nationwide including Ralph's, Bakers, City Markets, Dillon, Gerbes, Gilander, Jay-C, King Scoopers, Owens, Payless, QFC, Smiths, Scott's, Fry's, Cala Foods and Bell Markets. Consumers can find participating brands and locations in their area by visiting the Cellfire Web site. Cellfire issues new grocery offers every two weeks.
The Cellfire mobile grocery coupon service marks the first time a mobile application has been linked to a retailer's point of sale system in a closed-loop to enable end-to-end digital coupon processing. Through secure back-end integration with the grocer, consumers can save coupons on their phone directly to their savings card and have the discounts applied when they present their savings card at checkout — all without having to the deal with the hassle of paper coupons.
