WESTBORO, Mass. — MICROS-Retail, a division of MICROS Systems Inc. and provider of retail technology for the specialty and general merchandise retail industry, announced that direct marketer Chelsea & Scott and an existing customer of MICROS-Retail's Fry Open Commerce Platform, completed its successful implementation of CWSerenade and CWValueCard. The addition of the new solutions at Chelsea & Scott makes this the first MICROS-Retail customer utilizing Fry's OCP for its e-commerce sites and CWSerenade Java Order Management for call center and fulfillment.
Chelsea & Scott, Ltd. has enjoyed more than 20 years of success marketing quality products to parents of infants and children through its catalogs One Step Ahead and Leaps And Bounds, and through its websites www.onestepahead.com and www.leapsandbounds.com.
"Our legacy system could not provide the functionality or ease of use we required," said Matt Alberts, director of information technology at Chelsea & Scott. "We selected MICROS-Retail CWSerenade as it gives us the ability to streamline our business process and eliminate pain points in day-to-day operations. Since it uses Java and SQL Server, it integrates easily with other solutions."
Alberts and his team performed the integration.
"We're known for providing high quality merchandise, and our Web site and call center need to provide that same quality experience," said Linda Lomax, vice president of integrated marketing for Chelsea & Scott. "The call center interface is so easy to use, that we were handling all our own calls with normal volume by day two. Training now takes hours instead of days."
Chelsea & Scott also went live with its first gift card solution, MICROS-Retail's CWValueCard. The stored value card replaces its popular gift certificates. In April, Chelsea & Scott will begin to use MICROS-Retail CWData and Analytics which uses business intelligence to analyze performance.
