Chinese retail e-commerce sales hit the $1 trillion mark in 2017, according to Digital Commerce 360 data.
The data, according to a press release, reported retail web sales in China totaled $1.149 trillion in 2017, an increase of 32 percent from $869 billion in 2016, according to figures from China's Ministry of Commerce.
China far outpaces the United States, the second-largest e-retail market in the world, in both sales and growth and the retail market industry is projected to continue expanding.
According to data provided by Forrester, China's online retail market is expected to hit $1.8 trillion in 2022, stated the release.
