Consumer spend remains on a growth path

Consumers are still spending and the activity is driving robust economic growth.

Consumer spend rose 0.4 percent in July, according to a CNBC report, which cited Commerce Department data. The increase was the same as in June. Consumers are spending more at restaurants as well as prescription medicine.
