Costco bulletproof when it comes to Amazon, claims analyst

A retail industry analyst believes Costco may be the only retailer Amazon can't hurt due to its "sustainable" business model and intense focus on food and grocery sales.

In fact, analyst firm Barclay's is so bullish on how strong Costco is it raised its share target 9 percent last week, according to a CNBC report.

"Given Costco's high-quality merchandise in food, low prices, and the frequency of purchase for these items, we believe that the company's customers will remain loyal and believe Costco's price positioning and quality in food insulates it from Amazon," analyst Karen Short wrote in a note to clients, according to CNBC.
