Dassault Systèmes announces new release of 3D design software

Dassault Systèmes announced it has made available Release 2012 of its Version 6 Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application (CATIA). The new release will give users the ability to combine digital assets into solutions for retail store design and global production system planning.

For retailers, the new release allows merchandisers and designers to simulate retail settings inside 3-D environments to visualize and assess store layouts and product positioning as well as analyze consumer shopping behaviors.

According to Dominique Florack, senior executive vice president of products, research and development for Dassault Systèmes, the new release of the Version 6 platform comes out of Dassault Systèmes' push towards an open, unified collaborative platform and is designed to create real world implementation environments.
