While it may be a stalemate issue legislatively, some major retailers are taking action on gun control — for now.
Whas11.com reported that Dick's and Walmart are pulling semi-automatic rifles from store shelves, with Dick's removing all guns from its stores near Newtown, Conn., where the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary took place.
Walmart has also pulled the Bushmaster AR15 rifle from its shelves, according to the article, which was the type of rifle found on the alleged shooter. CNN reported on the story as well, saying it was unclear how long the retailers would suspend the sale of the weapons.
