Digby, a mobile commerce developer, announced it raised $8 million in Series C funding led by Battery Ventures with RIM’s BlackBerry Partners Fund and including S3 Ventures and Daylight Partners.
The Austin, Texas-based startup now has $16 million in total funding.
Digby’s mobile commerce product aids retailers in creating mobile websites, displaying rich product images and live catalogs. The product also allows retailer to create applications for iOS, BlackBerry and Android devices. Retailers currently using the offering include Costco, Toys “R” Us, The Home Depot, Lilly Pulitzer and 1-800-Flowers.
Digby inked a deal last week with AT&T to power its mobile commerce software platform for developers.
The new funds will be used to expand global operations such as sales, marketing, client services and research and platform development.
Finally, Digby appointed Mike Dansby as its CFO. Dansby is the former managing director of Atlanta-based Alvarez & Marsal Business Consulting.
