Dress Barn to close 650 locations

Dressbarn will shutter 650 U.S. stores in a move to bolster its financials.

The brand is owned by Ascena Retail Group which said it plans to target its focus on profitable brands, according to a New York Post report.

"This decision was difficult, but necessary, as the Dressbarn chain has not been operating at an acceptable level of profitability in today's retail environment," said Dressbarn CFO Steven Taylor, according to the report.
