Firich’s Retail Smart offers mobile POS

June 5, 2011

Firich Enterprises Co. Ltd. (FEC), a provider of POS terminals, and POS related peripherals, has launched Retail Smart, a fan-less mobile POS terminal with Intel Atom N270 processor (1.6GHz).

The POS hardware solution is meant to accommodate the growing trend of mobile POS and temporary point of service counters.

Retail Smart was designed to replace traditional point of sale counters by building peripherals into the design, including a LED display that eliminates a keyboard and mouse, an IC card reader, MSR, VFD customer display and a thermal printer supporting paper roll capacity of up to 100 mm and printing speed of 230 mm/sec.

The integrated peripherals are a cable-less design to reduce downtime for maintenance and takes up less counter space.

To become a mobile POS, FEC has had to work on increasing reliability and maintaining a light weight. The aluminum base acts as a heat sink for the fan-less POS terminal while plastic casing facilitates a 5.9 kg weight for carrying.
