First Gamer Doc video game store in Delaware celebrates grand opening

March 2, 2009

BEAR, Del. — Gamer Doc, the retail video game store franchise that delivers a new and interactive customer experience, will be celebrating the grand opening of its first location in Delaware on Saturday, March 7. Festivities include a contest for a local high school to win a free concert by the Ting Tings, a live broadcast by radio station WSTW, a drawing for a Wii console, a $5 gift card giveaway and more.

"Our grand opening is going to be very exciting," said store owner Steve Harrington. "Mike Rossi from WSTW will be broadcasting live from the store, we'll hold a drawing for a Wii console, and will be giving away $5 gift cards, t-shirts and bracelets. Gamer Doc and WSTW are sponsoring the contest for one of the local high schools to win a free concert by the Ting Tings, which began February 23rd. Students vote for their school by sending in a text message, and the school with the most votes wins."

The winner of the Ting Tings concert will be announced on Monday, March 9, and the concert will be held on Thursday, March 19. Later in the month, Gamer Doc will host an appreciation day where 10 percent of the proceeds from all sales made to students of the winning school will be donated to the PTA.

Gamer Doc is more than a video game store; it is an entertainment center, featuring "Gamer Centers" for Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and Wii, making it easy for customers to find the games, consoles and accessories they are looking for. Gamer Doc also sells flat-panel HD monitors and cables and offers console and disc repairs. The staff can show customers how to hook-up their systems for optimum game play, share tips on ways to improve their game scores, and answer any questions they might have.
