Following online success, Fab moves to brick-and-mortar

April 30, 2013

What began as a flash sales site aimed at gay men is now hoping to turn into the world's largest store for furniture and home goods design.

According to an article on Mashable, the startup held a presentation in New York Monday night to map out its larger vision. Fab's CEO Jason Goldberg said that Fab now has 12 million registered members in 28 countries, that 40 percent of last month's sales took place outside the U.S. and that the site is now the largest design store online, offering 33 percent more products than IKEA.com.

But as most retailers race to meet customer demands in the online world, Fab is heading offline, the article reported, as the retailer plans to open its first store in Hamburg, Germany where shoppers will be able to order and design their own furniture.
