Retail Control Systems (RCS), a point-of-sale solutions provider for retailers, announced that Goodwill Industries of Chattanooga has successfully automated 14 stores with its NCR Counterpoint retail management solution.
Prior to implementing RCS's NCR Counterpoint solution, Goodwill used electronic cash registers and credit card machines, managed cash drawer counting and deposits on Excel spreadsheets, and manually entered data into their accounting software.
According to the companies, NCR Counterpoint provides Goodwill Industries of Chattanooga with an easy-to-use touchscreen interface, 2-second payment processing, loss prevention tools, advanced reporting, staffing solutions, and a suite of built-in marketing tools to help minimize shrinkage, ensure accurate and secure transactions, improve inventory management, and increase customer loyalty. The custom enhancements developed by RCS have given Goodwill tools tailored specifically for their business such as a donation kiosk, donation roundup, color rotation, KPI tracking, and specialized reporting features that support Goodwill's mission of obtaining donations. Additionally, Goodwill hosts all of their stores through the RCS data center.
"The category management has been exceptional for managing inventory based on sales," said Tim Ward, director of information technology for Goodwill Industries of Chattanooga. "We believe we have increased productivity and saved time by at least 50 percent."
