Home Depot leaders will hit store floors each quarter

Home Depot is requiring its corporate employees to work an eight-hour retail shift once a quarter.

The mandate, which kicks off in this year's fourth quarter, includes senior management and executives, according to a NY Post report.

The strategy is to ensure leadership knows and understands challenges that store associates are facing every day, according to CEO Ted Deker who shared the reasoning in a memo obtained by Bloomberg.

As of the end of 2023, Home Depot was cited as the top home improvement retailer, capturing 28.1% of home improvement spending. Lowe's landed in second (17.3%) and Amazon took third with 15.8%, according to a Numerator Home Improvement Tracker report.
