The Home Depot isn't going to raise prices because of higher tariffs and avoided doing so by diversifying merchandise sourcing.
The news comes on the heels of Walmart declaring it will be raising prices on some items due to President Trump's tariff policies. In a swift social post reaction President Trump told Walmart to "eat the tariffs."
More than half of Home Depot's product sales come from the U.S., according to a CNBC report, and the company has steadily decreased the share of purchases from China.
"Because of our scale, the great partnerships we have with our suppliers and productivity that we continue to drive in our business, we intend to generally maintain our current pricing levels across our portfolio," Chief Financial Officer Richard McPhail told CNBC.
