Ideum multi-touch table, app let visitors explore New Orleans history

The Historic New Orleans Collection has installed an interactive tabletop 3D multi-touch map, provided by Ideum, that lets guests explore various attractions of the city's French Quarter, according to Ideum's website.

Maps from different historical periods allow guests to learn about historical events, home ownership patterns and architectural styles.

An on-screen QR code allows guests to download an app that lets guests take their time and gather information before exploring the city.

The interactive table has four user stations around the perimeter, allowing multiple guests to immerse themselves in the exhibit's information simultaneously and discuss their discoveries.
