Independent grocers across the U.S. are increasingly adopting Instacart's enterprise technology solutions, including Caper Carts, Storefront Pro and FoodStorm, to modernize both in-store and online shopping experiences.

Grocers such as Big Bunny Market in Massachusetts, Stewart's Marketplace in Utah, Luke's Local Grocery in California and S&C Foods in Tennessee are among those using Instacart's tools to enhance customer convenience and streamline operations, according to a press release.

"Independent grocers have always been passionate about the communities they serve and now they're leading the charge in retail innovation," Nick Nickitas, general manager of independent grocery and mid-market retail partnerships at Instacart, said in the release. "Instacart empowers grocers to deliver the best experience possible for their guests while streamlining operations, driving incremental revenue and strengthening their competitive edge."

Caper Carts allow shoppers to track spending and check out directly on the cart using AI-powered sensors. Storefront Pro enables grocers to build branded e-commerce platforms with integrated promotions and loyalty programs. FoodStorm helps manage prepared food and deli orders, enhancing efficiency and customer service.

Over the past year, the number of stores using Caper Carts has nearly tripled, with installations now in about 100 cities across 15 states. FoodStorm is active in more than 3,000 North American stores, more than double the number from 2024.
