Infinite Peripherals introduces mobile POS device compatible with iPad mini

November 7, 2013

Mobile point-of-sale device provider Infinite Peripherals Inc. has introduced the Infinea Tab M, which the company said is the first mobile POS device compatible with the iPad mini. The Infinea Tab M was launched in direct response to continuing retailer migration to mobile POS, the company said in a press release.

"Infinite Peripherals understands rapidly evolving market demands as a result of the deep relationships we have built from the early stages of mobile POS with our top U.S. retailer clients," said IPC President Andrew Graham. "As the first provider of iOS-compatible mobile POS devices, we help retailers deliver an even more streamlined and personalized consumer experience enabled by Apple's latest products so they can continue to increase revenues."

The Infinea Tab M with Lightning connector adds a 1D or 2D barcode scanner and magnetic stripe reader to the iPad mini so retail associates can conduct customer checkout from anywhere in the store, eliminating consumer wait times in line, the release said. The device is also available with optional Bluetooth and RFID readers for faster transaction times.

In addition to POS, the Infinea Tab M can be used for expediting inventory management, asset tracking, ID verification, lead tracking, inspection/work flow, dispatch, time/labor and lab and health care. Software development resources and tools are available for the product so customers can program scanner and reader functions into their own software application. The Infinea Tab M is equipped to deliver near-field communication in future updates.
