The latest augmented reality retail app from Xcel Brands and Aurasma makes those moving photos from Harry Potter seem like a real possibility. The companies, in an effort for Isaac Mizrahi New York, launched a mobile app that will bring printed content to life in the form of videos and animation, according to a press release.
Shoppers view various printed images pertaining to the Mizrahi brand through the viewfinder of the app on their smartphone and hidden content comes to life on the screen.
"Aurasma is excited to partner with Xcel Brands to bring additional consumer engagement to the popular Isaac Mizrahi brand," said Jennifer Rapp, general manager of Aurasma. "By augmenting a variety of brand-related images on products in stores, the Isaac Mizrahi New York app will captivate consumers with an innovative and memorable shopping experience."
