Kroger launching food section in Walgreens stores

Kroger plans to put food departments, offering 2,300 items — everything from meal kits to frozen food items — in 13 Walgreen’s stores by early 2019.

The news comes as retailers are expanding portfolios to compete with Amazon which now sells everything from food to fashion, to home goods and mattresses.

The Kroger strategy, called Kroger Express, according to a Yahoo report, will kick off in Kentucky.
