The 2013 L.L.Bean Bootmobile Outdoor Discovery Tour is headed to Chicago on July 20, stopping by the Navy Pier to inspire families to spend more time outdoors, according to a news release from the retailer.
Visitors to the Bootmobile will have the opportunity to learn more about local recreational resources, while the company hands out marketing and promotional materials such as activity books for kids. The company also is promoting its L.L.Bean's ParkFinder tool and app, which allows users to search thousands of national, state and local parks and public lands for outdoor activities including biking, birding, climbing, hiking, fishing and picnicking, according to the release.
Local residents are invited to share their outdoor tips and suggestions by posting to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram using #OutdoorDiscovery. L.L.Bean also will offer attendees a chance to win a hiking, camping or beach gear prize package.
