Long Island outlet operator giving gift cards to furloughed workers

The Tanger Center outlet on Long Island, New York is providing gift cards to federal workers not getting paid during the government shutdown.

The $20 gift cards will be offered through Jan. 28, according to a Patch report. The card can be used at any retailer in Tanger’s Outlets located in Riverhead and Deer Park. Shoppers need to present a valid government ID.
