Macy expanding off-price outlet strategy

Macy's, in a bid to lure price-conscious consumers, plans to open 100 Backstage location across the nation this year.

The off-price outlets, which will be housed within existing stores, according to a Newsday report, offer name-brand items from clothing to makeup at deeply discounted prices.

There are currently 55 outlets since the strategy kicked off three years ago.
