Macys, Stage, JC Penney tops in Black Friday discounts

A new report analyzing 8,000 deals across 35 top tier U.S. retailers reveals the best Black Friday deals will be courtesy of Macy’s, with Stage and JC Penney falling in line as number two and three respectively.

Holiday spend is projected to hit $656 billion this season, a healthy boost from $631 billion last year. Other top retail brands on the list include Kohl's at spot No. 6 and Sears in tenth place.

Macy's highest overall discount rate is 63.35 percent, and the overall average for the shopping day is 39 percent, according to the Wallet Hub study.
