MishiPay, a London-based mobile self-checkout vendor, now has about $4.3 million more to grow the business thanks to a Series A funding round that included American Express Ventures.
MishiPay is already working with several Europe-based retailers, including sporting goods company, Decathlon, and MediaMarktSaturn, the biggest electronics retailer in Europe, according to a press release.
The mobile self-checkout technology is reducing checkout times which boosts the customer experience.
Customers scan and pay for items via a smartphone. MishiPay integrates into existing payment infrastructures in an easy and low-cost fashion, according to the release.
"Retailers around the world are under pressure to create an outstanding customer experience," said Julia Huang, managing director at American Express Ventures, in the release. "We believe MishiPay is well-positioned to play a key role in the omnichannel retail revolution and are pleased to support the company in its next phase of growth."
