New Apple store in Cali to have 'floating' roof

Construction of a new Apple retail store in Northern California may hint at an evolving aesthetic for the iconic Apple store design, according to wallstcheatsheet.com.

The new store incorporates a "floating" roof, in which a thin, light-color material is used to conceal the structural steel supports and create the appearance of floating. The design comes from Foster + Partners, the same firm that is constructing Apple's Campus 2 office building and Apple's new retail location in Union Square, San Francisco, the article reported.
