NRF taps BJ's CEO as chairman

February 2, 2018

BJ's Wholesale Club President and CEO Christopher J. Baldwin has been elected chairman of the National Retail Federation's board of directors.

His election is one of eight new board members, according to a Progressive Grocer report.

"Chris Baldwin is one of the top thought leaders in retail and is well-positioned to guide NRF through the rapid transformation facing our industry as consumers discover new ways to shop and merchants find new ways to serve their customers," Matthew Shay, president and CEO of the Washington, D.C.-based trade organization, told the publication. "NRF and the entire industry will benefit from his experience and insights."

Baldwin will succeed Macy's Inc. Executive Chairman Terry Lundgren and will serve a 2-year term.
