Office Depot, Inc. has launched a virtual line queuing system, via a mobile app, across more than 600 Office Depot and Office Max stores in a slew of markets, including Chicago, Denver, Houston and Atlanta.

The system is aimed at helping small business owners save time when it comes to printing and copying needs, according to a press release. Customers can join a line through the Office Depot app via text message. Customers needing a tech services appointment can reserve a 30-minute appointment with a qualified associate as well.

The mobile app system also provides insight on wait times at stores and gives customers line status updates.

"It's never been easier and more efficient for our customers to use print and copy services," said Kevin Moffitt, executive vice president and chief retail officer for Office Depot, Inc., in the release. "Whether you're preparing signage for your store grand opening or need to print new business cards, we know time is valuable. That's why our new queuing technology lets customers wait where they want and helps our trusted print and copy advisors provide an excellent customer experience."
