OfficeMax unveiled a new small-store format in Milwaukee — one that trumps products with customer experience. According to chicagobusiness.com, the OfficeMax Business Solutions Center caters to small business owners looking for tailored assistance ranging from the basic to the complex.
The 8,000-square-foot store features an open layout, communal spaces, Wi-Fi and Apple-inspired tables filled with laptops and tablets, the article reported. The store also features a kiosk that lets customers play with 4,800 office furniture options, create their own rooms and view the results in 3D. An additional kiosk allows shoppers to access OfficeMax's 28,000-product Web inventory.
The Business Solutions Center also puts a new focus on skilled employees with the "business solutions adviser," an employee who serves as an account representative and provides continuing service to repeat OfficeMax customers, the article reported.
"The whole concept is based around helping businesses continue to grow by addressing challenges ranging from 'I need to get organized' to 'I need to understand cloud storage,'" said Kristin Muntean, OfficeMax's vice president of strategic initiatives and innovation, in the article.
