Oracle unveils merchandising analytics application

May 26, 2011

Oracle, a provider of business applications and storage solutions, has unveiled Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics. The software offers retailers a new pre-built business intelligence application that incorporates performance metrics and promotes a faster response to market opportunities, according to the company's press release.

The solution uses Oracle Business Intelligence Applications to access and analyze data from multiple applications, such as financial and workforce management, customer relationship management (CRM) and retail operations.

The business intelligence application provides insight to performance indicators, such as item sales, store performance, efficacy of promotions and markdowns, inventory turn, sales and profit trends and current and potential out-of-stocks.

This type of guided analytics uses embedded actions for users to act on the information they view in a dashboard or report. Reports can be delivered to mobile devices and desktops in a variety of formats.

Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics is currently available and includes packaged integration with the Oracle Retail Merchandising product family and relevant analytics.
