Recently, retailers who sell guns have been caught in the crossfire of an impassioned Second Amendment debate. And whether it's due to conscience or community pressure, many traditional payment processors are bowing out of relationships with retailers engaged in the legal trade of firearms.
However, payment processing solutions provider Payments Alliance International has reaffirmed its commitment to merchants in the shooting sports industry through the PAI Shooting Sports Payments Package with new payment acceptance alternatives, the company said in a news release.
The Shooting Sports Payments Package is an ongoing collaborative effort between PAI and shooting sports industry leaders that aims to provide payment solutions that meet the needs of firearm retailers and related professionals.
In addition to traditional card processing and check services, PAI offers a mobile payment processing alternative that uses the merchant's own mobile device. The company introduced the solution at last year's National Rifle Association Annual Meeting and the SHOT Show.
"The payment processing options for Federal Firearms License dealers and legitimate shooting sports professionals are getting smaller and smaller," said Nathan Danus, vice president of national accounts at PAI. "PAI will continue to help the shooting sports industry use payments technology to grow revenue, whether it's in a retail store, through an e-commerce website or on a smartphone or tablet."
Louisville, Ky.-based Payment Alliance International is a partner of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, NRA Clubs and Associations, NRA Business Alliance, FFL123.com, GunBroker.com, GunAuction.com, National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers and the National Pawnbrokers Association.
